‘Writing or thinking itself in Yemen is a privilege…’

Ibrahim’s comment to Kate Nevens (formally of Chatham House) when chatting online about western involvement in the Arab world:

“Conquering life is all about falling seven times and getting up eight. Writing or thinking itself in Yemen is a privilege over 10 million hungry people can’t afford amid a daily struggle for survival. The fact I am typing this now is a luxury 50% of illiterate Yemenis and 95% with no internet access unfortunately can’t afford. So complaining about the half glass empty in Yemen is not an option when almost everyone else’s half glass is full of sh*t”

  1. Knowing Ibrahim was itself a great privilege. For his intellect, his kindheartedness, and his wit.
